Artist/Philosophy Statement

“Art for me is both challenging and relaxing. Although watercolor is often considered one of the hardest mediums to control, it will reward you with some wonderful effects that are difficult to achieve in any other way.”

Susan graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in art education. She recently retired from 37 years of teaching art in the Chariton Schools. Susan is a signature member of the Iowa Watercolor Society and has participated in juried shows with the Iowa Watercolor Society, Iowa Artists and the Iowa State Fair. Susan enjoys plein air painting and plans to do even more painting and traveling with her husband, Bill.
